The Restile 2015 contest was more than just an impressive collection of ideas; it was an opportunity to get to know some young designers and creative talents. We wanted to find out how a project begins, what steps are involved in its development and what sources of inspiration lead to the formulation of a concept.

This is the second time that the Restile contest has run, with digital crowdsourcing leading to a surge in participants from more than 35 different countries. We talked to the key players in the contest about the genesis and development of their ideas and how these ideas connect with the panorama of everyday architecture and design. We also talked about the participants' designs and aspirations.

Our first interviewee is Matteo Cecconi. Matteo won third place at the Restile Awards with his FENIX design.
