After hearing from the winners of the Restile award, we spoke to those whose projects received a special mention. Their ideas and their creativity impressed the jury for a variety of reasons: a convincing concept, an innovative mix of materials, experimental surfaces.

Today we met Stefano Barrale and Silvia Mattana, two young architects who explained to us what devising a project together implies. An encounter of different ideas, visions and opinions that evolve towards a shared objective – in their MAGNETIC PLUS, an idea that won over the jury with its unusual light effects and the texture of the fabric, inspired by the geometric textures that can be admired on clothing, because their simple style is able to adapt to a variety of situations.

Their reinterpretation here blends with the study of magnetite, a metal characterised by octahedron crystals with triangular faces, and the result is a tactile collection enlivened by colour shifts and interesting refractions of light.

In this interview with Stefano Barrale and Silvia Mattana, let’s hear about their expectations for the future, their experiences and their inspirations!
